    Hi Charlie,

first of all thanks for your videos, they really help.

I wanted to ask you some advice. I’m trading part time for almost 4 years. First I traded 2 years in a demo account because I knew nothing about this world. And now I’m almost 2 years trading on a real account but a small one with 1k on it, and until this year, sideways.

This year, end of January I started more serious, finally with a methodology that I believe works after a lot of screen work haha. I just swing trade. My risk is always below 1% per trade, and usually around 0.5% and not more.

So I made like 5% first month, 7% the next one, and then April and May, French elections and so, I was obviously overconfident and traded more than I should, and lost 4% each month, still up, but it was a lot. (I learned a lot from that too! haha).
Then although a little bit scared at the beginning, I kept trading and I made 1% in June and I’m about 2% this month, working hard in my psychology.

My goals were to make 5-10% a month, and if the system worked, increase my account maybe to 2k or 4k, because I see that sometimes, trading swings, 1k seems to be a little too tiny, and I don’t trade some opportunities because they excel my risk parameters. I know that I should be trading with almost 5k to properly manage well my trades and my setups.

So my question is, should I increase my account with a 5% increase after 6 months? Or knowing that I could have done way better if it wasn’t for my psychology, should I wait until I make the 5-10% a month with this tiny account?

I apologize for the long message but don’t really have anybody to talk about this or ask about this kind of things…

Thanks for everything Charlie, I really appreciate what you and Kym are doing.

    Kinds Regards

    Paul

The answer to this comes from you really as it’s what account size you are comfortable with rather than what I tell you to be with. So what account size at this moment in time would you still feel comfortable trading? That is your answer. If you try and trade an account size that you’re not ready fr, it will affect your mindset….

      Hope that helps…

        Hi Charlie,

Yes you’re absolutely right. I just have to think about it by myself. Thank you very much for your help!

        Kind Regards

        Paul
