    Hi Charlie,

Thanks for the vid, I noticed the link about the brokers you have shortlisted so just a quick question.
I’ve just signed up for the deal with esignal and forex through Sam as an Ezeetrader as it’s an absolute no brainer when you take into account the standard costs. I’m still adapting to the platform but also loving it but I’m a little unsure about which broker to go with. I’ve had a quick look at the broker partners and some familiar names are up there but no ETX, so I’m just wondering whether it’s possible to use this broker with esignal or if not, could you suggest one that would suit an intraday trader. I had been considering IB until I saw your link.

    Best Regards,

    Danny

Great stuff, I’ll give IB a go as the applications now being processed.

    See you in the chatroom.

    Thanks again,

    Danny

      Hi Danny,

      Two things to watch out for;
firstly if you are intending to use a direct link from eSignal to IB this is bringing in a potential area of dispute if positions are not closed or their is slippage. I would alway operate the charting package separately from the broker.
Secondly you need to check with IB what their costs are for trading forex. I believe they have good spreads but they used to charge traders when they moved their stops, I am not sure if this is still the case.

      Regards

      Kym

    Hi Kym,

Thanks for the advice, it’s certainly a bit of a minefield. I’m just taking my time trying to get the right set up. I’ve spent a huge amount of time developing skills to enter the markets and build capital so I’m certainly not about to rush these key steps. I was under the impression that a direct link between the charting package and broker was necessary in order to open positions. Are you suggesting that I should just use Esignal to look for entries and then use the brokerages software to actually make the trade with no actual link between them?

I do believe you are correct in your understanding of IB’s spreads being the more favoured over the forex costs.

    Thanks again,

    Danny

      Hi danny,

Yes I would only use eSignal as a charting package, not to trade from. My thought is that if you have a problem on a fill or any order, there are two areas to question rather than one. Latency through another channel may also give you slight slippage. Now I cannot be 100% certain of this but by having them separate there is no doubt.

      Best wishes

      Kym
